Lorraine K Dennis
July 9th, 1934 - February 22nd, 2023
July 9th, 1934 - February 22nd, 2023
Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother Lorraine Kunin Dennis, 88, of Chicago, Illinois was born to Fred and Belle Kunin on July 9th, 1934. She passed away on February 22nd, 2023, lovingly surrounded by her husband Bob and many family members. The depth of sorrow her family and friends feel is a measure of the love and joy they all shared with Lorraine. She touched many lives during her time here with us.
Lorraine moved from Chicago at the age of 9 to Los Angeles. She met Bob at the age of 15 at an AZA (Jewish Boys Social Club) party. On August 22, 1954 at the age of 20 she married Bob Dennis at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Almost 3 years later their first son was born. She would always say how she had 4 boys in a very short period. How she adored her 4 boys Kenny, Eddy, Ricky & Ronnie. Bob and Lorraine raised such a wonderful family in Woodland Hills. She had always been so active with the boys’ schools as they were growing up. She was PTA President throughout their elementary years. She was also very active with The City of Hope through the 500 club. She was very proud of the fundraising she did for them.
Bob & Lorraine traveled quite extensively. They went to Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Paris, Vienna, Israel to name just a few. She would always say what a great life they had. Even when she knew she wouldn’t be with us much longer she would say what a great man her husband Bob was. She loved him so dearly.
Lorraine had a passion for life and a spirit that endeared her to all that knew her. To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement. If you asked her if life had gone as planned, she would say even better. She loved being a wife, a mother, mother-in-law and grandmother.
Services will be held at Mount Sinai Simi Valley on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 20 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to The City of Hope.
