Shirley Bloom

Shirley Bloom was born and raised in Boston Massachusetts.   She was the oldest of four siblings and was a bright and curious child. Shirley was an excellent student and loved to read and write. She attended the local high school, she moved to California where she lived for over seventy years.    She went on to earn a degree in English with teaching credentials from Long Beach State University.  Shirley was passionate about education and loved working with children. She is survived by her five children, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.  She loved to cook for her large extended family, she was an avid reader and loved to do the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle (in pen). She was an active member of her community and volunteered her time to various causes including the League of Women Voters, the Orange County Democratic Party.    She was passionate about women’s issues and established scholarship funds to help young women attend Fullerton State University.
