Magdalena Moskovits passed away on January 26, 2026, at the age of 79.

She was born on January 20, 1947, in Ukraine, to her parents, Sarah and Ludwick Greenspan. An only child, Magdalena carried herself with fierce independence, sharp wit, and a presence that was impossible to ignore.

She met her husband, Eugene, and together they built a life rooted in resilience, humor, and devotion. In 1978, they immigrated to the United States, settling near family and forming deep, lasting friendships that became central to Magdalena’s life.

A force in every sense of the word, Magdalena rebuilt her life from scratch after coming to this country in her 30s. Fiercely resourceful and resilient, she never waited for permission or pity. She survived, adapted, and lived life on her own terms. Known for her mischievous humor and love of teasing, she brought laughter wherever she went. She left an impression wherever she went and was not easily forgotten.

Magdalena leaves behind her beloved and only son, Robert Moskovits, who was the pride and joy of her life, and her daughter-in-law, Kara. Family meant everything to her, and she cherished long phone calls with the people she loved most.

She found joy in her daily routines — walking through the West Hollywood farmers’ market, going to the bank, visiting Whole Foods, and making sure her pantry was always fully stocked. A true foodie, these rituals brought her comfort, purpose, and a sense of order in the world.

A memorial service honoring her life will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Mt. Sinai Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.

A gathering will follow.

We hope that Magdalena will be remembered as a strong, spirited woman with a vivid presence and a sharp sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
