In Loving Memory

Phyllis Reva Harris (Laxineta)

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Phyllis Harris, who left us on July 17, 2025.  Phyllis was a cherished Wife, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother, Sister, Sister-in-law, and Aunt.

Born on March 23, 1934, in Los Angeles, California, to David and Katie Laxineta, Phyllis lived a life defined by intelligence, warmth, compassion, and a rare, graceful spirit that touched every life she encountered.

She was happily married to Warner D. Harris, who preceded her in passing. Their life together was filled with love, mutual respect, and an enduring partnership.

Phyllis spent the past twenty years in Palm Desert, California, where she embraced numerous friends and family with her characteristic warmth.

She is lovingly survived by her family:

Her children: Bruce (Gail) Harris, Brad (Helen) Harris, and Vicki (Mark) Reminger; Her grandchildren: David (Sarah) Harris, Carla Harris, Jennifer Harris, and Jessica Harris; Her great-grandson: Hunter Harris; Her brother, Irv (Marilyn) Laxineta, sister-in-law Sylvia Laxineta, and sister-in-law Ann Mazirow; and many adored nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A funeral service was held at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills on July 22, 2025, where her life was celebrated by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Phyllis’s memory to one of her favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Disabled Veterans  Charities of California or a charity of your choice, as a way to honor the generosity and spirit she shared with so many.

Phyllis and Vicki took me in at my most worst time of life. I will be forever grateful and love them always. We lost touch over the years but Phyllis' kindness will never leave me. RIP dear 2nd Mom. I love you.
