Charles Dickman

February 19th, 1929 - April 23rd, 2022

February 19th, 1929 - April 23rd, 2022

Charles J. Dickman, a pioneer of the Southern California deli meat industry, has died. Charlie grew up in a loving home with his parents Simon and Dorothy and sister Adele.

Charlie was drafted into the Korean War, served his country honorably, and received the Purple Heart medal. Soon after returning from the war, he married Micky - the love of his life.

In the 65 years they were happily married, Charlie and Micky loved to entertain, travel, and raise Dalmatians. It was their tradition to take their family each year to the Alisal Ranch where they could enjoy quality time with their sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren. They also cruised with friends to exotic ports of call around the world.

A true entrepreneur, Charlie and his partner founded a deli meat company in the late 60’s. After the partner retired, Charlie renamed the company Charlie’s Pride Meats, and along with sons James and Robert operated the company for many successful years.

Charlie was much loved and forever will remain in our hearts. He touched many lives, and is survived by sons, James (Adrienne) and Robert (Patty), grandchildren Gabrielle (Andy), Noah, Jordan, Matthew (Colleen), and Jessica, and great grandchildren, Ellie and Owen.
