Shirlee F Berger

Mom. Shirlee Fenchel Berger. Daughter of Ann and Benjamin Fenchel. Born January 6th 1926 in Chicago, IL. Passed away September 17, 2022 in Oak Park, CA. In love with her husband Alfred since they met in 1942. Loved by her children Wayne and Jan, her grandchildren Leah, Ali, Erin, Josh and Sarah and her great grandchildren Oliver, Lucas, Elli, Arlo,  Cameran, Connor and Mikaela. Loved by extended family, and friends from Chicago and California.  She always brought a smile to everyone’s face.  She was optimistic person and lit up the room when she entered.  She has been described as a ray of sunshine and also a fireball. On the other hand, she could also be stubborn at times! Family was always important to mom and so were her friends. Both lifelong friends and those more recent. Shirlee loved to travel. She traveled throughout the United States and all over the world.  Shirlee learned to love playing cards from her mother Ann.  She continued to love playing cards with her friends to her final days.  During COVID, she learned how to play bridge on her iPad with people all over the world.  She loved playing all card games and playing Maj Jong as well.
