Hilly was born in New York to Jean and Jules Gordon. Raised in Great Neck, the family moved to California when he was eight years old, settling in Beverly Hills.  Even with the move out west, in his heart, Hilly was always a New Yorker. 

Hilly attended Hancock Park Elementary School, John Burroughs Junior High School, Fairfax High School and UCLA where he was a member of the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi.

Hilly had a very successful career as a CPA and Business Manager. In addition to having his own private practice, he was a partner at Duitch & Franklin for many years. Hilly was proud of his involvement with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Volunteer Association. 

Hilly was a classic car enthusiast. As an avid member of Cadillac and Oldsmobile car clubs, he travelled throughout the country attending numerous car shows. His greatest dream came true when he drove the Autobahn with his cousin.

Hilly and his wife Valerie enjoyed travelling throughout the United States and Europe. They always came home with great tales of their adventures.

Hilly shared many special memories with his children Michelle Weisman (Hershey), Mitch Gordon (Erin) and Todd Gordon (Robin) at their home in Marina Del Rey, celebrating countless birthdays and holidays. 

He was grandfather (aka Grumps) to Paloma, Brandon, Jacob, Nathan, Ananda, Andrew, Bryson, Josephine, Maya, Landon and Tristan. Great-grandfather to Adelina and Ariana.

Hilly had a great love of Golden Retrievers, and provided years of love to Sidney, Rocky, Max and Annie.

It is with a grateful heart we thank Louise, Albert, Dennis, Rain, Lumel, Kyle and Rick for the exceptional care and kindness they showed Hilly and Valerie.

Hilly is survived by his wife Valerie, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and loved ones. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Temple Fund at Wilshire Boulevard Temple, the Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue or a charity of your choosing.
