Recuerdos

That's All Folks!!

Jonah Allen Steinhaus, born in Brooklyn, New York in 1943, was an insightful trouble maker. He loved his wife Audrey, of blessed memory, his daughters Stephanie and Jennie, their spouses/partners Ron and Mike, his grandchildren: Mia, Joshua and Maddie, and his brothers, Barry and Zach. And they loved him immensely in return.

As a psychotherapist he helped people to know themselves. As a friend, he was an intuitive listener. As a human, all he wanted was to experience things and know people well.

Karen Larsen's tribute image 1

My uncle was such a funny guy. When I was a kid and came over to visit my cousins, I loved being around him too. I called him uncle dragon breath; not sure where that came from, it wasn’t because he had bad breath but it was funny, and he seemed to enjoy the nickname. He gave me a stuffed animal/pillow that was a cat with a kangaroo pouch with a kitten in the pouch. We called it Pussaroo and I still have it. I don’t have other stuffed animals or mementos from my childhood, aside from one teddy bear that I think I’ve had since I was an infant and couldn’t bring myself to throw away even though it’s threadbare and missing an eye. Just the bear, and Pussaroo. I’ll never give it away.
