Matthew J. Taylor

July 24th, 1978 - November 12th, 2023

July 24th, 1978 - November 12th, 2023

Matthew James Taylor was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 24, 1978. He passed away on November 12, 2023 in Sherman Oaks, California. He leaves his wife Dr. Kate Wolitzky Taylor and two sons, Isaac and Aldon Taylor. He is also survived by his father James R. Taylor and mother Lisa Page Taylor along with two brothers, Michael and Gregory and a sister Andrea. Another brother, Jeffrey, predeceased him. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Emily Danies and father-in-law Sid Wolitzky, along with his sisters-in-law Anna, Beth, and Rachel and brother-in-law Max. Loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces nephews, and friends all mourn his passing. As a child Matt excelled in baseball, basketball and football. He was always a respected companion and friend. After graduating from high school and completing a year of college he enlisted in the United States Navy. However, before deployment as an enlisted sailor he was singled out to receive additional training in a program that allows exceptional enlisted sailors to become officers. While on active duty, Matt attended the University of Arizona in Tucson where he received a bachelors degree in chemical engineering, was sworn into the Navy as a Lieutenant and connected with the love of his life, Kate Wolitzky. After additional training he was deployed to the USS Kentucky as submarine officer. During his military service he also earned a Masters Degree from Old Dominion University. After his military commitment, he was recruited by ACCO Engineered Systems and relocated with his family to Los Angeles, California. He began at ACCO as an engineer, and was promoted to project engineer, project manager, project executive, and sales manager during his 14 years at ACCO. During his time with ACCO Engineering Matt successfully located and managed numerous projects to conclusion. Tragically just a few weeks before his sudden and unexpected passing he was promoted to the position of Vice President of Construction. Matt’s greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his wife and children. He loved the beach, traveling, museums, and sporting events. In every case, whether a son, a brother, a friend, a husband, a father, or a professional manager Matt remained a steadfast, trusted and much loved anchor to those around him. He will be sorely missed and forever loved.
