December 3rd, 1927 - October 6th, 2022

Obituary for Miriam Ann Altschuler On October 6th, 2022, Miriam Altschuler passed away peacefully in her sleep just as she wished. Born December 3, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the center of our family\'s universe. She will be missed by her sons and their wives, Steve and Judy, Mark and Kathy and Todd, who called her Mom. She also leaves behind her grandsons Robert, Ryan, Sam, and Rafe, who all called her Granny. She was blessed to have been able to spend time with her great granddaughter Maya who always put a smile on her face and lit up her life beyond her expectations and for that we are grateful. Mom traveled the world and often spoke about the places she had been to with her husband Jack who passed away in 1996. She was a passionate Mahjong player who looked forward to her biweekly games with her group, where sometimes she would come home with winnings of one dollar! Mom had many, many friends some of whom had passed before she did and those who survive her will miss her greatly. In 1976 mom founded Small Wonders Handcrafted Miniatures which quickly grew into a successful business. She was interviewed by Jane Pauley on the Today Show and her reputation in the miniature world was one of unequaled quality. Before she passed, she saw that some of her miniatures were being sold on Ebay as \"Vintage\" handcrafted miniatures which she found to be very amusing. We were so fortunate to have had her with us for almost 95 years and all her family is forever grateful that she was able to stay in her home for close to 50 years and always had family with her until the end. She said many times that spending time with her family was the greatest blessing of her life.
