Oren Oved will be missed. He and I were coworkers, and we bonded over the fact that we were both from California. We shared heartfelt conversations about the most recent California wildfires... the Eaton Fire that affected Pasadena and Altadena, where my family is from, and the Palisades Fire, where his loved ones reside. Oren’s personality was unforgettable. He was funny, relatable, and kept us smiling from ear to ear every time he came into the office. Like me, he brightened every room he walked into and was always a pleasure to interact with. His presence in the office was something special and those memories will be cherished. One moment that stands out was when we caught Oren mid-performance, singing out-loud a popular K-pop song by Huntrix. When we asked him how he knew the song, he smiled and said something along the lines of, “My kids play it nonstop... I had no choice but to learn it.” We all laughed, because that’s exactly how we knew it too. Turns out, all of our children plays that song on repeat at home. Oren easily became one of my favorite coworkers to see at the end of each week because of his joyful personality and the way we often joked with him about his clients and life itself. His memory will live on in the stories we share, the laughter we remember, and the simple ways he made our work days brighter. As I stated before, Oren will truly be missed. May he rest in peace.
