Cepora Medovoi

10 de enero de 1936 - 31 de octubre de 2024

10 de enero de 1936 - 31 de octubre de 2024

Cepora Medovoi was born in 1936 in Tel Aviv, Israel to Simcha and Miriam Burkwitz. She was the oldest child, along with her brother Yehoshua (Shuki) and her sister Leah. Cepora married Jorge Yoram Medovoi in Tel Aviv in the 1950s, and the couple came to the United States where Jorge could study electronic engineering at Fort Wayne Tech in Indiana. After Jorge's studies were complete, the couple moved to Los Angeles.  There they lived for the rest of their lives.

Cepora had three children: Leerom, Amir, and Ornah. Even while raising her kids, she became a Hebrew school teacher, both teaching language and Bible classes. She worked for over 20 years at Valley Beth Shalom Hebrew High School, and later became a principal of several other Hebrew Schools.

Cepora loved to read and she loved her crafts. She embroidered, made jewelry, and above all, she tended her garden. Nothing made her happier than to bring a new plant to life. She was also experimenting with making jams, frozen fruits, curing her own olives, even making her own wine. She also loved children, and was delighted when her own kids eventually married and had kids of their own. She had a beautiful smile and a warm heart. We are sad to lose her, but we are grateful for all the joy that she brought us and the love that she shared with us. We will carry her in our hearts forever.
