Janice Silverman, Obituary Janice was born on Valentine’s Day and that says everything about her. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She would ask about your latest work meeting or how that blind date went. She cared and worried about everyone with no limit to the degrees of separation. How was your co-worker’s sister’s stepson’s wedding? would not be a surprising question. Everyone mattered to her.  The joys in her life—her husband, kids and grandkids, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, her sister-friends—were her joys. She loved life. Until the end, she relished the beauty around her—those flowers, the sky. Early in her diagnosis she was excited that she was playing the best golf of her life. When she left the hospital with her final prognosis, she took a moment to admire the architecture, What a beautiful building. When her grandchildren thanked her for being their wonderful loving grandmother, she just said, “Thank you.” Loving her family and her friends was her joy. And we will miss that active, engaged love in our lives. She died at age 80, which can be read as the Hebrew word, Yesod. Yesod is the foundation upon which God built the world. And Janice was the foundation upon which we built our family. Janice is survived by her husband, her beshert, Donald, her four daughters Susan (Yosef), Laura (Wesley), Jodyne (Sim) and Sarah (Rory); her grandchildren Aliza, Hallel, Adar, Zamir and Ashira; her niece and nephew Debi (Joe) and Andy (Laura) and their families, her honorary kids Leslie and her daughters and Roudy (Beatrice) and their daughters. And all her sister-friends   In lieu of flowers, please donate to Second Nurture at 2Nurture.org.
