Audrey R. Israel

July 16th, 1935 - September 23rd, 2023

July 16th, 1935 - September 23rd, 2023

Audrey Rhoda Israel, 1935-2023 Audrey Rhoda Israel, of Valencia, California, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 23, 2023, at the age of 88. Audrey was a remarkable woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Born on July 16, 1935, in New York, Audrey grew up in Queens with her parents Theodore “Teddy” and Betty “Bessie” Brandt and her older brother Donald. The Brandt family moved to Southern California in the late 1940s, where Audrey’s younger brother Robert Curtis was born in 1949. Audrey kept beautiful homes in Whittier, La Mirada, Sherman Oaks, and Valencia, CA, among others. Audrey married Andrew Benjamin Ullman in November 1954. They had three children together: Mark Allen, Lawrence Edward, and Michelle Joyce. They divorced in September 1972; Andy passed in 1997. Audrey married Sam Israel in May 1974, and was with him until his death in 2003. Sam was the love of her life, and his untimely passing affected her deeply. A fiercely devoted mother and grandmother, Audrey\'s love for her children and grandchildren, Remy and Kyra Ullman and Alex Tako, knew no bounds. She cherished every moment spent with them and created lasting memories that will be treasured forever. Audrey\'s nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family, as she was known for her love and acceptance towards everyone she met. Audrey was a smart and funny woman with a keen eye for interior decorating and gardening. Her home was always filled with warmth and beauty, reflecting her impeccable taste. She was a gracious host and had a special talent for cooking. Audrey’s homemade soups and brisket were family favorites and her culinary skills brought joy to the hearts and taste buds of her loved ones. Audrey was also an astute businessperson, working together with Sam for many years at their HVAC contracting business, Air Conditioning Exchange, Inc. As we bid farewell to Audrey, we are reminded of her strength, intelligence, and resilience. She navigated through adversity, leaving an enduring legacy of love, acceptance, and perseverance. In recent years, Audrey faced many challenges and battled with illness. It brings comfort to know that she is now free from pain, anxiety, and suffering. We find solace in the belief that she is reunited with her beloved Sam, her older brother Donald, and her parents Teddy and Betty. Audrey is survived by her brother, Robert C. Brandt and his wife Lynn, son Mark Allen Ullman and his wife Leisa, son Lawrence Edward Ullman and his wife Lise, and daughter Michelle Joyce Ullman and her husband James “Jim” Wohlfarth. She was preceded in death by her father Theodore Brandt, mother Betty Brandt, and brother Donald Brandt. Audrey\'s legacy will continue through her loved ones, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. A service in celebration of Audrey\'s life will be held at Mt. Sinai, Hollywood Hills, CA on Sunday, October 1, 2023. At this gathering, family and friends will come together to celebrate the remarkable woman Audrey was and the indelible impact she had on their lives. May her memory be a blessing forever.
