Dorothy "Dottie" Match, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on January 16, 1928, in New York, Dottie’s life was one of compassion and devotion. Her family later moved west, eventually settling in Los Angeles, where she built a beautiful life. A natural caregiver, she dedicated much of her career to the health-care field, always providing comfort and kindness to those in need.

Dottie had a deep love for classical music and found joy in playing the piano. However, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family. She and her husband of more than 40 years, Sam Match, shared a love of travel, especially attending tennis tournaments together. But nothing brought them greater joy than dancing to the rhythms of Big Band music, a passion they cherished throughout their years together.

An avid animal lover and a woman of grace, Dottie was known for her radiant smile, impeccable style, and boundless love for her family and friends. Her kindness and warmth touched all who knew her, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Dottie is survived by her sister, Marcia Lippett; children, Jeff Match, Leslie Goldstein, and Sheri Jorgensen; their spouses, Bobbie Match and Lars Jorgensen; her five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Her family will honor her life in a private celebration, remembering the joy, love, and light she brought to the world.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the World Wildlife Fund.
