Esther L. Kaplan

Esther Sarah Lemberg “Leslie Kaplan”, 99, of Woodland Hills, passed away peacefully at the young age of 99 on June 28th, 2025. She was an entertainer, mother, grandmother, jewelry and accessory importer/ designer, and writer. From growing up in Strawberry Mansion, Philadelphia with 3 inspirational women: grandmother Bubba, mother Bessie, and Aunt Celie; she became a strong, successful, independent woman with some spunk. For those who knew Leslie, she was the star of her very own film called life. She would start her day in her “dressing room” presenting herself to the world with a full face of makeup, high heels, and wearing something fashionable, go about her day randomly bursting into song like a musical, narrating stories with touches of Yiddish speech, flirting and laughing without a care in the world. She radiated with beauty, love, and life.

She believed she would live forever… we all did. Every September 17th (her birthday) she would say another year turning 29. A natural jokester for comic relief. She’s a youthful spirit survived by her daughter Julie, and four grandchildren Seth, Mitchell, Jeremy, and princess Erin. Her memory lives on forever until…
