Jackie had four children, three who predeceased her (George, Debbie and Hank). She is survived by Alana her oldest child, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was born February 26, 1937 in Trenton, New Jersey to parents Louis and Gertude Bloom. Her parents had immigrated to the United States from Russia. Her father passed away in 1957 and her mother passed away in 1971. She had one younger sister, Sandra. Aunt Sandy passed away in 2004.

Her father owned two record stores back east. The family moved to Arizonawhen she was young in hopes the better weather would help with her severe asthma. When Jackie was a teenager, they moved to Southern California and settled in the Pasadena area where her parents owned a clothing store on Colorado. After her father passed away her mother continued to run the business for many years.

Jackie’s young family moved around quite a bit until finally settling in Burbank around 1961. In 1986 she was very proud when she bought her condo in North Hollywood.

She worked many different jobs throughout the years. Then she found a job with the Burbank Police Department and stayed there for over 34 years. She retired in 2008 in the position of Police Records Technician Supervisor. After her retirement she joined several social clubs, the Red Hats, Patricians and Elks which she enjoyed very much. When she was healthy, she traveled quite a bit to the Barona casino.

Jackie was diagnosed with lung cancer June of 2022 which we later learned had already spread to her bones and brain. She passed away September 18, 2024 after trying four different treatments. Although she was fiercely independent, strong willed and resisted having help, she did have wonderful caregivers for the last four months of her life 24/7. True to her personality she left a 6-page letter of instruction to carry out after her demise for her daughter. She also had all her funeral plans prearranged. She was buried at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills near her sister, Sandy. Her three deceased children are just next door at Forest Lawn
