Bree Langer

Abraham “Zoli” Langer was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He lived 97 1/2 incredible and inspiring years — each one a testament to his resilience, strength, and desire to live a proud, Jewish life. He is the word survivor personified in so many ways. His life was not easy. He survived concentration camps, sickness, and even cancer later in life. He survived the holocaust at just 16 years old - the lone survivor of his 7 person family. He came to this country with nothing and built a beautiful life and family. Through it all, he persevered with an optimism, humility, strength, and courage many couldn’t have. He is the definition of perseverance. He fought every battle with humility, kindness, strength, and courage. Though he only had formal schooling until sixth grade, he was incredibly wise — in more ways than one. He came to America and learned the language, found a way to make ends meet to feed himself and his family, and became a beloved business man. Despite the trauma he endured, he remembered every detail of every thing. Every person. Every place. His curiosity never faded and his mind was sharp until his very last day. To know Zolio was to love him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his commitment to Judaism, his long-winded stories, his jokes, his impeccable memory, his work ethic, and his deep love for his family. His family will continue to grow and flourish in his honor, and his strength will live on in his future generations. May his memory be a blessing.
