Charlotte Ann Kamenir

August 28th, 1924 - October 21st, 2026

August 28th, 1924 - October 21st, 2026

Charlotte Kamenir lived a magnificent life—a life overflowing with love, purpose, generosity, and an extraordinary devotion to family, friends, and community. She lived past her 102nd birthday.

Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Edward Kamenir (z”l); loving mother to Sandra Kamenir, Barbara Siegel (Stuart), Janice Kamenir-Reznik (Benjamin), David Kamenir (Debra), Michael Kamenir, and Beverley Kamenir.  Adoring grandmother to Joshua Frankel (Amy), Aaron Frankel (Carrie), Shira Grock (Andy), Yoni Reznik, Devi Reznik, Sami Reznik-Slater (Rachel), Talia Stryker (Matt), and Sarah Kamenir Snyder (Ryan); and proud great-grandmother to Noah, Alex, Ethan, Hannah, Zachary, Theo, Zoe, Eli, Gabriella, Asher, Kameren, Eliana, and Romi.

Beloved sister of Don (Corky) Luber, the late Betty (Jack) Chislov and the late Shirley (Irwin) Schuster; wonderful aunt to Rhonda, Julia, Miriam, Steven (z”l), Dante, Judy, Alane, David, and Susie; and a cherished friend to so many whose lives were richer for having known her.

A graduate of Chicago Teachers College, Charlotte began her professional life teaching high school botany. After raising her family, she returned to graduate school to earn a master's degree in gerontology—embarking on what would become an extraordinary second chapter devoted to helping others. She was the longest-serving volunteer counselor at Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles, an organization she loved deeply, and served on its Board until her death.

A lifelong member of Sinai Temple in Westwood, Charlotte also found a second spiritual home at Beit T'Shuvah, where she became a beloved fixture and where everyone knew her simply and affectionately as “Momma Char”.

Charlotte cared passionately about the world around her. She believed in showing up, speaking out, lending a hand, and making a difference. Her fierce commitment to protecting our precious American democracy, her love of Israel and the Jewish people, and her lifelong devotion to community service were not merely convictions she held, but values she lived. And through it all, family and friends remained at the very center of her world.

Charlotte had a remarkable gift for making people feel loved and valued. She built friendships that lasted a lifetime, welcomed people into her heart, and left an indelible mark on generations of family and friends.

The family is forever grateful to Dr. Burt Liebross, Ulli, Marlene, Stephanie, and Dorie for their unending love, devotion, and tender care.

Charlotte's was a life magnificently lived, a life filled with meaning and love, and a life that will never be forgotten.

We'll be loving you… ALWAYS.
