George Berci was truly a remarkable physician whose life spanned over a century, touching both personal and professional realms in profound ways. Living to the age of 103, he not only witnessed but actively contributed to significant advancements in the medical field. One of his most notable inventions, video laryngoscopy, revolutionized airway management, greatly enhancing patient safety and saving countless lives, particularly in anesthesiology and emergency medicine. His contributions extended beyond just his inventions; he was an inspiration to colleagues and a mentor to many in the field. His life's work has left an indelible mark on medical practice, and his innovations continue to shape how we care for patients today. As a close friend and colleague, George will be missed tremendously. His warmth, intellect, and dedication to medicine will be remembered not just through his pioneering advancements but in the many lives he touched and the legacy he leaves behind. His life was truly one of service, innovation, and compassion—a life that will continue to inspire for generations to come.

One of the blessings of my life were the many mornings sharing breakfast with Dr. Berci. He was a brilliant and honorable man. My condolences to the family and I know Barbara now has him in her care.
