I only got to know Mona in her last few years of life but she will forever be a part of my heart. Above all else, she wanted the people around her to feel happy and safe. She was a beautiful person with a mischievous smile and wicked sense of humor. Think of her the next time you have ice cream ♡

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to the most amazing woman to have ever walked the Earth. Mona exemplified, kindness, beauty, and grace. She was a thoughtful listener who always took time out of her day to make you feel heard. The Mahony family will miss you dearly and thank you for being such a guiding light in our lives. Chris considered you like a mother as I know many did. You opening up a skate shop was probably a little confusing for your friends and family but boy was it the best thing for the rest of us who met you there. You were a mama to us all and each and everyone of us is better for knowing you. Now go be with Zig and get his diet back on track! We love you Mona!

Jason Joel Harris

Being an avid skateboarder and fresh out of high school, Mona and Phyllis took me in to join their land of misfit toys (with co-workers and lifelong friends Simon and Bryand). If it wasn’t for the opportunity to work at their skate shop, I wouldn't have been able to develop the passions I unknowingly had. I can’t thank them enough for the contribution they made to my life and so many others who literally grew up in that shop. I will continue to think of Mona every time I have a birthday, as we shared the same day. And I will have a cheese danish and a Diet Coke with lemon in fond remembrance of those good days. With love and my deepest condolences, Jason Harris

Mona was an amazing human being and a wonderful aunt. She was a special person that cared for everyone she came into contact with. She did things to genuinely make people happy. We all are truly blessed to have met such a beautiful person.
