Correy was a college buddy of mine. I gave great memories of his light blue Triumph convertible...boy he loved that car. He would not let me take the wheel....he said the clutch and shifting gears was real touchy. I am so sad to learn of his passing. He had such a big personality and always strived to excel in academics. My condolences to his family.

Correy was a very caring and thoughtful person. We were close friends in elementary school, living 3 houses apart, but drifted apart after that. Many years later we became reacquainted especially during and after our 50th high school reunion. While Correy was in town, he went to several cemeteries and cleaned around the graves of people that he knew, including my mother and father. Of course no one asked him to do this. This was a Mitzvah he did on his own. We kept in contact after that and unfortunately he got sick about a year later. He kept myself and several of my friends in the loop with very explicit and scientific details about his treatment regimen. My friends I realized at this time that Correy was one smart dude. Much of what he wrote was above our heads and we would kind of laugh about it. Anyways, it was apparent how hard he was fighting which required great strength. I pray that his strong commitment to Judaism and faith gave him solace and reduced his pain. He will be missed.

I met Correy, when my childhood friend Janine introduced us during our college years. The impression I had was, “This a very gentle, caring, intelligent guy. How wonderful for Janine.” Over the ensuing decades, we only really crossed paths at their family events like weddings and funerals, maybe a class reunion. Yet, Correy always approached and interacted with me in a way that communicated genuine interest, appreciation and imparted loving acceptance and authentic curiosity about what was happening in my life. A few years ago Janine shared in passing how Correy had painstakingly digitized their law firm’s records…and I could hear in her voice how much she appreciated his dedication, patience, and effort on their behalf. I’d heard that tone in her voice before.. and would again. The last 2 times I saw Correy were at the funerals of his mother in law and then father in law. I remember thinking how stately and peace-imparting he appeared standing with the family. When I approached him, he leaned down (he was so tall🙂) and he said, “Tammy, it’s always so good to see you.“ Life has its own course, and coming to acceptance of how disparate that can sometimes be from my own wishes can be challenging. It takes time to adjust and regain perspective… that a power greater than us is at work and gratitude for the time we have is one thing we control. The Correy I knew was a kind man whose presence I’ve no doubt made such a meaningful impact for so many…especially those closest to him, yet also those like myself who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him even just once in awhile.
