"Seize the time. Live now! Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again." - Captain Picard

Micah passed away peacefully on the morning of March 9, 2026. His wife Cecily, daughter Amelia, siblings & father miss him every single day. Micah not only leaves behind his beloved family, he also leaves behind his friends that he cared about deeply and fiercely.

Micah was born on September 26, 1982 in New Haven, Connecticut to Phil & Linda (of blessed memory) Bleich. The youngest of 3, Micah towered over his siblings Noah & Adeena when he grew to 6'4" by the age of 18 (no, he never played basketball). At the age of 14, Micah discovered Magic: The Gathering which would become a passion and hobby for many years to come. After high school, Micah majored in Computer Science at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Micah was also a passionate fan of the Cleveland Browns, although he would kindly ask you not to bring that up. Following his own path, Micah spent a summer interning at the Laugh Factory, which encouraged him to pursue stand-up comedy.

In October 2007, Cecily began working at the Laugh Factory, where she and Micah met. Their first date was in February 2008, where they had dinner at Il Buco followed by a visit to Blockbuster (believe it or not!) to choose a movie. They adopted their beloved dog Neon in early 2013 and were married on November 17, 2013 in Simi Valley, CA. Neon (nicknamed "Desert Dog" for her love of Joshua Tree) was their constant companion until she passed in 2024. Micah & Cecily traveled everywhere, honeymooning in China, dog sledding in Alaska, exploring Denmark (his dream trip) & hiking in the Faroe Islands. Micah's most treasured travel memory was sitting on a swing while it rained during their stay at the Mount Tom House near Eugene, Oregon.

Through his writing and stand-up performance, Micah (later stage named Kruger Dunn) owned his "full dork" status. During his stand-up career, Micah performed on stages at the Laugh Factory & Comedy Store in LA, and the Comedy Cellar in NYC. He helped produce numerous shows including Comics vs. Crowd, Fartificial Intelligence (where he introduced his first AI project, Gloria the blender), and Humor for the Hungry. Micah also took courses at UCB, where he joined a team called "Socially Attractive" (yes please laugh). One of his proudest achievements was co-founding the Best Comedy Club Near Me Theater, a comedy space on Melrose Ave. Through all of this, Micah was never afraid to try anything he set his mind to.

When Amelia was born, Micah worked hard to pursue his tech career as a Product Manager, a path he was truly passionate about. At 43, he began an MBA program at Boston University. Being an early adopter of AI, Micah's ultimate dream was to teach & empower those who were afraid of AI so that more people could use it for good rather than for profit or gain. Before his passing, Micah published Parka.ai, with the goal of helping AI users find information accurately without bias.

Micah was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and family man. There was never a day where he didn't tell his wife how beautiful she was and he held Amelia in his arms every day exclaiming "You're so cute! Wo ai ni!". He loved spending time with his nephews Jonah & Ezra, playing their favorite made up game called "Robot." Micah loved spending time with his dad Phil, Noah & Adeena but also with his in-laws Harry & Penny Feng, who he considered to be his second parents. Every year, Micah & Cecily hosted "Fengsgiving," inviting both sides of the family as well as anyone who needed a place to go.

To be fair, it's nearly impossible to summarize any life. Micah would probably read this and disagree with some parts, he would say he never achieved anything in his stand-up career. He would say he has no friends. As a friend put it, he was a "pedantic stress monster" (IYKYK). He wanted to be the very best to take care of his family. He was the biggest cheerleader of those he cared about, supporting his friends and family in their careers & goals. Micah thought the best of all his friends, pushing them to be their very best.

Micah loved: the rain, the color orange, the band Cake, playing the drums, Tommy Boy, Star Trek, karaoke nights, and chicken pot pie. Micah hated heights and spiders, but can you blame him.

Micah fought hard however his lymphoma finally took ahold of him. In his final weeks, his friends traveled from far and wide to see him. Those moments filled a sad time with so much love. Friends & family gathered on a daily basis to cry, laugh, and share their love for Micah. In his last act of love, Micah passed away peacefully in the morning hours shortly after Cecily awoke for the day so she could say goodbye. She held his hand and felt his heartbeat as they shared their last moment together.

My Micah, we met in October 2007, started dating in February 2008 and never looked back. Every day that I go to spend with you, it felt like the sun was shining on me and I would never get cold. I miss everything about you - your brilliance, your ability to stress about every single thing, your cheerleading of everything I ever did, I miss watching you with Amelia and I miss falling asleep with your hand on the small of my back. I remember the first moment we met. You were wearing crooked glasses, a wrinkled shirt and khaki cargo pants. I made a lame joke and you politely laughed. Little did we know we would be sharing 18 years of real laughter together. Now instead of your warmth, my grief surrounds me like a blanket I can’t remove. The weight of it keeps my feet planted in the ground, so deep in mud that it feels like I can never take a step again. There was never enough time when we were spending it together. We become attached by a string and although invisible to others, I can still see it as clear as day. I miss your past, present and future. I love you.

I met Micah when I started working at the Laugh Factory around 2006. We immediately clicked, with common nerdy/computery interests in common - and over the years our friendship deepened. and I was blessed to get to know his family. A few years later, Micah and I started a website company together: NerdAndArtist.com. We came up with the idea to make a Do-It-Yourself website builder. It was a brilliant idea too good to fail. (Many of the photos here are from company art assets and visualizations I created to manifest our success.) After 4 long, magical years spending every free moment at each others houses developing the system, wix.com beat us to the punch, and also our tool was built in Flash, a technology that became obsolete with the advent of the iPhone. I will forever treasure those precious years, working and playing together with so much passion. Several years after I had moved on from The Laugh Factory, Micah told me he had a huge crush on the cute assistant to the CEO. Cut to years later celebrating his wedding to the amazing Cecily. Micah and I kept in touch by regular texts and phone calls, even after I moved to Mexico. And I was so honored that the cute, adventurous couple came to my 50th birthday party in 2022. They had to pass on coming to my wedding in 2025 because... wait for it... they had just had a baby girl, Amelia!!! Since the birth of Amelia, I saw in Micah a most beautiful and profound transformation. For as long as I had known Micah, although he was the sweetest, funniest, most delightful person to be around, he dealt with some version of depression and anxiety, with countless heartbreak stories of how God/the Universe cheated him out of success, etc. Believe me it was the source of many philosophical conversations and endless pep talks. When Amelia was born, suddenly there was a profound shift in Micah's attitude... he stopped arriving at fatalistic conclusions and reasons why plans were destined to fail. I barely recognized him in our conversations. He was optimistic and deeply determined to create a great life for his daughter. If his life were a movie, it would seem that he finally had completed his character arc, and overcome his character flaw. I guess that sense of closure helps a bit as I process the tragically and poorly-timed onset of cancer that took him from us. When I visited him in the hospital in his last days, I started to compliment him on the transformation I mentioned above, and as soon as I mentioned Amelia's name, he teared up and told me he should have told me about his one trigger warning. I know he wanted more than anything to be an amazing father for his daughter as she grew up, and even mentioned regretting he could not get out an AI version of himself to answer questions and such from his perspective even after he had passed. I've had two dreams about Micah since he passed on. One where he came and gave me a big hug and said he was fine on the other side. We proceeded to watch a stand-up comedy act, and he said it was too bad he couldn't perform that night, but they don't let spirits onstage there. In the second dream he was able to give me coding advice through the development tab in my Chrome browser. He said he didn't have a lot to do and was happy to help out with my coding. I'm still processing Micah's death - it happened so fast. I have impulses to send him a funny text or ask him something, and my brain hasn't made the adjustment that he's gone. My heart goes out to Cecily, Amelia, Noah, Adeena and Phil, as well as his other friends and family. I feel truly blessed to have had such a dear friend for so many years. He truly had a heart of gold, and was a loyal, genuine friend to the very last day. May he rest peacefully in the eternal hereafter. I look forward to seeing you again when my time comes.
