Andrew "Andy" Jacobs

31 de agosto de 1953 - 8 de octubre de 2026

Andrew Jacobs (1953-2026) was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and called it home for the entirety of his life. A native “angeleno,” upon graduating from Hamilton High School in 1971, he went on to UCLA, a place that would become the source for some of his most cherished experiences, passions and friends.

While at UCLA, Andrew rowed as a member of the lightweight varsity crew and was a part of a boat that won the Western Sprints Championship.  Graduating in 1975 with a BA in History, Andrew then went to Loyal Law School, and upon earning his degree (and passing the Bar) worked for Spray Gould & Bowers and eventually opened his own practice in personal injury law.

Andrew met Bonnie Weiler, married in 1987, had Jordan and Kayla and settled in Woodland Hills.  The family became members of (then) Temple Aliyah. A dedicated soccer coach (for many of Jordan’s teams), Andrew was also a season ticket holder for UCLA basketball, and a passionate member of the Bruin Professionals and Provisors networking groups.  A schmoozer at heart, Andrew cherished these connections, and moreso, the friendships that emerged as a result.  Known by many in the legal community, Andrew was also respected and remembered for his camaraderie, kindness, and humour.

In his mid 40’s Andrew was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and commenced a life-long battle to which he succumbed on October 8, 2026.

In Pirkei Avot/Ethics of the Fathers it is written: “... acquire for thyself a friend.” In his lifetime, Andrew gave many the chance  to make this  a reality.
