Debra Robin Montrose
July 16, 1957 - July 18, 2022
Debra Robin Montrose was born on July 16, 1957, in Los Angeles, California, where she grew up with her parents, two siblings, and three step-siblings. Debra, affectionately known as Debbie, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2022, at the age of 65. During Debbie\'s short illness, she was cared for and surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her loving and supportive nieces. From a young age, Debbie\'s life was marked with a profound passion for art, design, and architecture. After graduating from Granada Hills High School in 1975, Debbie attended an art institute in Los Angeles. In 1979, at the age of 21, Debbie started All Tiled Up, her first business where, for over 40 years, she designed and hand-painted ceramic tiles that filled the walls and floors of many houses, restaurants, and hotels throughout the United States. In 1993, Debbie founded her second business named Debra Montrose, Inc., to support her multiple creative abilities as an artist, interior designer, and space planner. As Debbie\'s company continued to grow, she changed its name to General Design Concepts in 1995 to encompass her design and construction services for remodeling and building houses. During her career, Debbie completed many tile, design, and remodel projects that were prominently featured in well-known design magazines. Debbie\'s artistic vision helped her expand into designing and manufacturing wallpapers and fabrics. Debbie\'s flair for intertwining vibrant colors and intricate patterns allowed her to explore and express herself in a variety of ways, often helping family and friends with their personal home projects and themed events. As a designer, Debbie had a love affair with art since she was in grade school. She proudly displayed her original set of 50 colored markers from her childhood as a reminder of how far her artistic journey had carried her in life. Debbie is predeceased by her father Joe Montrose. She is survived by her mother Barbara Levine, brother Scott Montrose, sister Sandra Montrose, nieces Scarlett Berrones, Madison Berrones, Alexandra Ponder, nephew Lawrence Montrose, and her extended family, along with an extensive network of dear friends. Debbie cherished her family and the traditions that were instilled in her. She spent years tracing her ancestral lines, often traveling worldwide to meet newly found family members. Debbie\'s generous heart and loving soul will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
