"My Goal in life is to be unconditionally loving, considerate and compassionate toward everyone I meet."
Janice Elizabeth Reich, née McLellan, passed away on October 11, 2026, in Thousand Oaks, California, at the age of 67. She was born on October 2, 1959, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Janice was known for her vibrant presence and the warmth she brought to those around her. She could light up a room and, in the words of those who loved her, “command the room.” Her greetings were unforgettable: she would run up to welcome friends and family with the biggest and loudest hugs, offered with genuine warmth and sincerity. As a young teenager, Janice was captivated by Seventeen magazine and similar publications. Tall, blonde, and pretty—her own words—she took a modeling course through a top modeling agency and began as a young model. Ultimately, her desire for steady income led her to a career in the equine industry, where she worked as a lab technician. It was there that she met her husband, David Reich. Janice’s love for friends and family was immense, matched by her love for Dave and Sweet Pea. Even when illness made life difficult, she made a point of being present for holidays and events. She was kind, generous, funny, energetic, loyal, considerate, and curious, and she cherished time spent talking endlessly with family and friends. She enjoyed eating, especially Dave’s cooking; traveling to Palm Springs; shopping; and budget decorating their home. She also enjoyed watching hockey games with Dave. Janice is survived by her husband, David Reich. A service will be held on October 22, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Pacific Time at Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries, 6150 Mt Sinai Dr, Simi Valley, CA 93063, USA. In Janice’s honor, donations may be made to The Lupus Foundation Of America at www.lupus.org.

Dave, I was so saddened to hear about Janice’s passing. I cannot imagine the pain and weight you carry right now after everything you have been through together. You were always there for her, and the care and dedication you showed every single day was extraordinary. You were truly a devoted husband. Please know that I am thinking of you during this heartbreaking time. I am here for you. With love, Claudette Kaufman

It is so hard to believe that you are no longer with us. Just two days before your passing, I had the chance to speak with you on the phone. I never imagined that it would be our last conversation. That moment will always hold a special place in my heart. Your kindness and your warmth will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to your dear husband, Dave. May he find strength, comfort, and peace during this incredibly difficult time. Dave, please know that you are in my thoughts, and I am sending you my deepest condolences. Rest in peace, dear Janice. You will always be remembered with love and affection 🤍🕊️

My absolute favorite moments with Janice were sharing her delicious chocolate cake, laughing along with Curb Your Enthusiasm, and cuddling up with Sweet Pea. Another cherished memory is driving through scenic canyon roads in her manual red Mazda, an adventure that always brought us both so much happiness and endless smiles.

Had a wonderful dinner with Janice in Montreal at Da Emma years ago . She was in great spirits and she always enjoyed my sense of humour.

I was extrememly saddened when Dave called me and told me of Janice's passing. There wasn't a month when we didn't speak and she filled me in on her and Dave as well as family back in Montreal. I grew up with Dave as next door neighbors in Montreal and now I live in Chapel Hill, NC. I remember when my wife passed away in 2020, Dave and Janice sent me a very nice condolences and tribute to Simone which I still keep. Although it has been over 20 years since we saw each other, Dave is one of my best friends as was Janice. May her memory be a blessing. Steve Soltan and Laurie Mang
