Norma Silberberg

Norma Silberberg (nee Scherl) 92, preceded by her husband Mel Silberberg and son Steven, passed away on February 24, 2025, in Westlake Village, California.

Born in the Bronx, New York, Norma pursued higher education at Hunter College before embarking on a career as an administrative assistant, working for both Burlington Mills and in county government. Norma was married to her high school sweetheart, Mel, whom she met at the Y in the Bronx. 

Norma found joy in intellectual pursuits and creative expression. She had a deep love for reading and enjoyed blackjack, Mahjong and Bridge. Her artistic side flourished through oil painting, while crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy provided a constant source of mental engagement.  She enjoyed socializing and volunteering with her friends. Norma was active as a member of B’nai B’rith Havorim and Temple Adat Elohim.

Norma is survived by her daughters, Robin DeGraff (Dean) and Sheryl Blaufeld (Steve) granddaughters, Melissa DeGraff and Kara Wakefield (Andrew); and great-grandson, Dominic Wakefield.
