Robert Bovshow

  Robert Bovshow 1932-1923 It is with great sadness to share about the passing of Robert Bovshow, husband of Sondra Bovshow, father of Lori Levin (Harry B”H), Larry (Shirley) Bovshow, Marla (Jeff) Rauthause, and Michelle (Mark) Tamburri and grandfather of 14 and great grandfather of 3.   He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Leo and Molly Bovshow.  The family moved to Los Angeles in 1945 including younger siblings Gerson (B”H) and Marilynn.  He married the love of his life, Sondra Primack, his wife of 71 years, in 1952.  As a young newlywed, he served in the Navy with a detail in Guam.  Upon returning he attended UCLA receiving a degree in engineering and went on to have a career which included instrumental work on the space shuttle.  At this time, he started a family which he and his wife raised in the San Fernando Valley.   While working full-time as an engineer he attended night school to pursue a law degree.  Upon passing the bar, he opened his own practice specializing in worker’s comp which he successfully ran until the end of his life.  He never wanted to retire.  His strong work ethic and his dedication to the law was highly admired by his peers.   His dedication and love for his family was larger than life and demonstrated in constant family gatherings whether it was holidays, simchas, a cruise or spending every Friday night with his siblings and their spouses.  There was always room for one more at the table.    Bob was as famous for his magical eyebrows as he was for constantly having a camera in his hand.  At gatherings, he would always say, “Just one more photo.  Just one more photo.”  He and his wife loved to travel, taking many cruises, and travelling to Israel often.  He loved and was so proud of his Judaism.   This kind, loving, smart, and extraordinary man will be missed by many. -- Lori Levin & Associates Bilingual Vocational Consultant 23371 Mulholland Drive, Suite 274 Woodland Hills, CA 91364 (818) 635 - 1258
