Miriam B Drucker

Miriam Drucker was born Miriam Betty Klitsner, August 22, 1923 in Lancaster, Wisconsin. The only sister in a house, with four brothers, she developed a wonderful sense of humor and a love for family.  She became a school teacher and moved to Southern California in the early 1940’s.  She taught school, kindergarten, and met the love of her life, Edwin in the mid 1940’s.  Edwin served in the US Navy during WWII and they were married shortly after Ed returned from overseas in 1946. Miriam and Ed lived in and around Southern California and eventually settled in Encino in 1965 where she lived until she passed.  Miriam loved music and musical theater and was an accomplished pianist.  She volunteered mauch of her time with Valley Beth Shalom in Encino and acted in many of the temples community theater productions,  including South Pacific, Anything Goes, and her favorite, Oklahoma in which she played the role of Aunt Eller. Miriam was a doting mother and wife, who thought of everyone else before herself.  Some might say that is the definition of a mother, but Miriam extended that to everyone she met.  It was this caring attitude for others that led to her being deeply beloved by everyone, not just family.  She loved to laugh even when she was the butt of the joke, in fact, she laughed even harder if that was the case. She will be sorely missed by community, neighbors, friends and family. Memorial Service will be held at Mount Sinai, Hollywood Hills, Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 9:00AM in the Mount Sinai Chapel.  Although Miriam loved flowers, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Valley Beth Shalom Sisterhood.
