Shari and I worked together at Sequoia Junior High School, which is now Santa Susana High School, for many years. She was one of the most exceptional teachers I have ever met in my teaching career. She was loved by all her students, faculty and staff throughout the years at Sequoia. She was out-spoken and stood up for all of our rights as teachers. Our time together at Sequoia will always remain with me in my heart and memories of a beautiful woman who gave of herself whenever needed. "God Sleep on Your Pillow Forever Shari".

Shari was my principal at Parkview elementary. She was a dedicated educator who gave full support to her staff and students. An example of that support was a project I worked on one summer to make improvements in our school library. Her unwavering support made all of our efforts a success. On a personal note, my neighbor’s son and Shari’s son were good friends in high school. We liked to chat about what was going on in each of their lives once they graduated. Shari cared about everyone she knew!

I had the honor and privilege of knowing and working with Shari. She was the consummate professional, a real straight shooter and an island of sanity amidst the chaos. She was also a genuinely kind, gracious and warm human being. She had my utmost respect as a colleague and a friend. I am saddened by her loss.

Shari was an incredible advocate for students. She always gave her best to support all students and their families, as well as supporting and encouraging the teachers and staff members at Park View. She has touched the lives of so many! She was so supportive of me when I lost my 18 year old son. She inspired me to be the best teacher I could be for my students. I will always remember her! I’m so sorry for your loss of Shari. Sincerely, Deborah (Sabo) Whittaker
